Job Description

  • To advise the Management in the Co-ordination and supervision of technical aspects of construction projects including civil & electro-mechanical aspects and regular site visits to new and existing projects.
  • Pre / Post Assessment of new real estate / construction projects being considered by the Bank especially from overall feasibility point of view in terms of cost of the project, timeline, value, progress etc. and submit a detailed report before the Relationship team puts up a credit proposal.
  • Supervision on progress and quality of execute work on the site to determine on work proceedings as per project specifications. Update the Management on work in progress / oversee the actual work in progress to monitor any delay and meet completion target date. 
Section Three –  Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibility
  • Pre / Post Assessment of new real estate / construction projects being considered by the Bank especially from overall feasibility point of view in terms of cost of the project, timeline, value, progress etc. and submit a detailed report before the Relationship team puts up a credit proposal.
  • Managing, monitoring and interpreting the Contract design documents supplied by the client or architect / consultant. 
  • Liaising with any Consultants, Architects, Sub-contractors, Supervisors, Planners, Quantity Surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project. 
  • Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws. 
  • Communicating with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors) including attending regular meetings, wherever necessary.
  • Frequently visit the site for the projects to examine the progress/quality of the work done, materials delivered to the site under LCs and seek opinion of the Consultants on the quality / progress of work.
  • Monitor the project progressing as per schedule, visit every 3 months and delayed projects more frequently depending upon the severity of the delay and risk to the Bank. 
  • Submit the Project Progress Report on each project financed by the Bank, which should accompany the annual review or renewal proposals prepared by the Relationship Managers. 
Reports and MIS
  • Reviews and assess periodic reports ensuring accuracy and monitors project progress.

Miscellaneous 
  • Performs other duties in line with scope of work and as advised by the Department Head. 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering 
  • Having worked in a similar capacity 
  • Minimum 10 years in Civil Engineering with expertise in Building Engineering, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction studies and Structural Engineering.
  • Communication Skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals, e.g. construction managers, quantity surveyors, subcontractors, architects, designers and other engineers.
