Job Description

  • A Sales Director is a team leader charged with the task of managing a group of Sales Managers to be as effective as possible. 
  • Responsible for directing all sales activities within the company and ensuring the company’s sales grow year on year.
  • Setting revenue targets for the company and setting key performance indicators.
  • Seeking out major clients and forming working relationships with the premier buyers.
  • Identifying valuable emerging markets
  • Devising and implementing the company’s sales strategy.
  • Implementing sales strategies across the company and monitoring effectiveness.
  • Ensuring the organisation has an effective sales training programme.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • High degree of trend analysis, market monitoring, and result tracking.
  • Sales Director must be number-oriented individuals with strong math skills and well-developed business senses. 
  • Previous experience working as a sales director ideally for a similar organisation.
  • Natural leader with an ability to inspire performance with sales teams.
  • Strong commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business development.
  • Formal sales training would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth and delivery of results to business plans.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills 
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team initiative, drive and enthusiasm 
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets 
  • Representing the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events 
  • Maximizing new business development opportunities.
