Job Purpose:
  • Develop scripts and reports using Oracle PL/SQL to support the business.
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks with all entities. Goal is to ensure the smooth functioning of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users.
  • Provide support in all other IT related issues faced by various departments or branches.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Developing letters by using programming techniques and Oracle development tools for Customer Service Dept: PL/SQL.
  • Configuring and setting up letters in the system for automatic batch printing.
  • Developing scripts, writing queries, packages for preparing required reports.
  • Configuring and setting up reports for automatic download.
  • Provide IT support for all departments and branches.
  • Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords.
  • Installing, supporting and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers.
  • Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards.
  • Analysing and resolving problems, whether it is a major system crash or a forgotten password.
  • Working closely with other departments and collaborating with other IT staff.
  • Performing any IT-related task assigned that does not fall into the above list, but requires an additional resource contribution.
Desired Profile :
  • University Degree: Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Server, Lan, Wan, Active Directory, Veritas backup, Recovery, Migration, Network, Support, Administration, Anti Virus, Oracle, etc.
  • MCSE certification in the network areas will be an added advantage.
  • Must possess 1-2 years of experience in a related work area preferably with a life insurance company.
  • The capacity to adopt a flexible work style in response to changing circumstances. 
  • The ability to think logically and understand situations or problems by organising or synthesizing information in a systematic way. 
  • The capacity to be energized and excited by challenging objectives and reflected in a drive to deliver.
  • The desire and capacity to readily lea, integrate and use new work related knowledge to enhance personal effectiveness. 
Key Skills : Ability to proactively assess situations or opportunities as opposed to reacting to problems and assignments.
