To achieve market share objective of Bank Cards Business by delivering a highly cost efficient and profitable proposition to the Cards Business by developing and creating new cards products, deliver creative, innovative, relevant and differentiated features and benefits to different product tiers while complying to all relevant regulatory bodies. The incumbent is also expected to revamp and / or re-launch existing products / features where necessary in line with the Bank’s segmentation strategy, strategic segments and new market opportunities e.g. youth prepaid cards.
Job holder is required to lead all card related campaigns, through effective management of cost and ROI. Cross functional leadership role is expected when planning and implementing various initiatives taking into account product design, peculiarities, target market, detailed SWOT, strategies, product positioning, research results and risks vs rewards. In addition, to secure all required approvals from from external stakeholders, Payments Schemes, Chamber of Commerce etc in addition to Internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Ensure budgets are managed effectively and timely deliveries within costs are achieved.
Contribute to increase market share in both usage and cards in force.
Identify and address customer needs and expectations and ensure products are effectively managed for all the target segments.
Lead innovativeness and competitiveness in all products.
Lead “First to Market” advantage in all profitable products suitable to target segments.
Work with MasterCard / VISA or any other 3rd parties on various related fronts.
Work closely with Partnership Management, Portfolio Management, Marketing, Sales Distributions Channels to ensure optimum product penetration and maximum product profitability.
Prepare and execute Product / feature program outlining product definition and design, peculiarities, target market, detailed SWOT, strategies, product positioning, research result, system requirements, credit policy, criteria, procedures, terms and conditions, risks vs rewards and business complete case.
Support Cards Business in providing intelligence through MIS and other available sources to increase penetration, usage, cross-sell, and upgrade.
Provide Business Head support for financial planning, budgets and controls.
Provide periodic management reporting whenever required.
Strive to achieve best in class product and services from third parties for Bank interest
Skills and Qualifications:
University Graduate from reputable university with good academic background.
Minimum 8-10 years in similar roles or in Consumer Banking / Products, with at least 5-7 years’ experience in Cards Business.
Strong product development capability with proven track record.
Have previously worked in large local or International banks.
Experience in managing multi-faceted / stakeholder projects
Experience in managing and growing profitability.
Sound marketing experience
Ability to handle and maintain effective relationship with multiple stakeholders.
Able to present to multi layers within / outside the organization.
Ability to conceptualize & research new ideas and analyze them from market and financial standpoints.
Budget planning, controls and implantation.
Credit cards business knowledge including products, operations, risk management, marketing communication, advertising, promotion and loyalty.
Knowledge of segmentation techniques.
Proven ability to coordinate product and market research, sales forecasting and promotional planning.
